I guess another one of the few good political things to happen today was the fact that a Senate committee fought against Bush by approving legislation that would not allow the CIA and military (et al) to use some tactics of 'interrogation' (better known outside of the White House as torture) that break the Geneva Conventions. Possible frontrunners from the GOP for president in 2008 (or at least notable names) that agreed with the measure to not strip some of the rights of 'enemy combatants' of the 'War on Terror' include Senators John Warner, John McCain, and Lindsay Graham (nice, considering his despicable work with Kyle, I think, on the military tribunal info handed to the Supreme Court), as well as Colin Powell (mentioned in previous post) have fought against Bush's version of the bill — which people like Senator Frist wish to pass.
