In the 2006 US midterm elections, Sen. George Allen (R) has finally conceded his super-close race against James Webb (D).
The Democrats now control the Senate by a mere one seat (51 D, 49 R) and the House of Representatives by at least 33 seats (229 D, 196 R, 10 ?).
Out of the two very close Senate races — Montana and Virginia — this election, both loosing Republicans did the right thing by conceding and not dragging on the election by calling a recount in their races (I say that only because there was no sign whatsoever of questionable counting or voting fraud in either race).
